“Blood with Milk” is a contrary name of the meeting with two best-selling writers, Zygmunt Miłoszewski and Grzegorz Kasdepke. It will be hosted by a third best-selling writer, Mariusz Czubaj.
What connects the author of adult books with the author of children's books? Enjoying crime fiction! Zygmunt Miłoszewski wrote a series of great novels about prosecutor Szacki. Grzegorz Kasdepke is known as the creator of a series about detective Pozytywka. Both are aware that if we do infatuate children with literature adults will not read books. If we run short of reading adults no one will infatuate children with literature. And what about Mariusz Czubaj? Mariusz Czubaj is not just an author of the award-winning criminals, but also a professor of cultural anthropology – at the meeting, just like the heroes of his books, he will put both Miłoszewski and Kasdepke into the crossfire of questions.
“Blood with milk” is supposed to be an opportunity for a discussion with the readers as well, both younger and older ones. For a discussion about literature, about the specific genre of crime story, about the purpose of culture in social life. Entire families are welcome, adults and children. The inauguration of the apolitical movement Independent Culture was an excuse for such an unusual meeting.
The guest writers are among the originators of that movement. One of its goals is to celebrate the centennial of Poland’s independence underlining the role of culture in Polish history. Admittedly, there are a few months left until 2018, but let’s enjoy the independence today already. And joyful meeting with writers of popular novels should be an inspiration for everyone, who believe that it is possible to talk about the days important for the nation without pathos, and with smile and passion instead.
