Natalia Fiedorczuk – nominated for the book “How to love shopping malls” (Wielka Litera Publihing House, Warsaw 2016)

Natalia Fiedorczuk (born in 1984) – graduated in psychopedagogy, composer, vocalist, and publicist. She works as a cultural animator, she is engaged in civic activism in local communities. She wrote about music, internet, aesthetics, and housing. “How to love shopping malls” was her prose debut, for which she was awarded with the “Polityka’s Passport 2016”.

Aneta Prymaka-Oniszk – nominated for the book “Bezhenstvo 1915. Forgotten Refugees” (Czarne Publishing House, Wołowiec 2016)

Aneta Prymaka-Oniszk – journalist, she wrote for “Gazeta Wyborcza”, “Polityka”, “National Geographic”, “Karta”. She participated in the creation of the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, she was the spokeswoman of the institution. Since 2014 she runs a website biezenstwo.pl.

Piotr Janicki – nominated for the book „13 Arts” (Tymoteusz Karpowicz Foundation for Culture and Education, Wrocław 2016)

Piotr Janicki (born in 1974) – a poet, lives in Supraśl. In 2006 he published a book of poems “Still Velvet”. For his second book “Words of Appreciation” (2014) he received the Gdynia Literary Prize 2015. Cocreator of the website “Cyc gada”.

Szymon Teżewski – nominated for the book “Etheromaniac” (Regional Center of Culture Animation, Białystok 2016)

Szymon Teżewski (born in 1988) – IT specialist that returned home after graduation, to Augustów. Fascinated with his own region and its disappearing specifics, that he constantly tries to learn and express in his works.

Wiesław Kazanecki Literary Prize of the Białystok City Mayor jury composed of: Halina Kazanecka, Dariusz Kiełczewski, Jarosław Klejnocki, Marek Kochanowski, Katarzyna Sawicka-Mierzyńska, Justyna Sobolewska, Danuta Zawadzka, and Danuta Anna Pieciul will nominate the candidate for the prize and will submit their opinion for consideration to the Białystok City Mayor.

The award ceremony is scheduled for March 24th, 2017.

The meetings and the award ceremony are held under the patronage of the Białystok City Mayor.
