Professor Adam Czesław Dobroński's book is a tribute to Jewish women who, in the extremely dramatic situation of being confined in the ghetto, showed extraordinary strength of character and courage. Some of them, regardless of the great threat to their own lives, became couriers and then partisans. They managed to save themselves and help others. The book brings to light the figures of women who have not been widely known so far, their names rarely appearing in studies on the Białystok ghetto.
