If you want to learn how to use media tools to counter discrimination, how to mobilize communities into action and start working with Amnesty International, are invited to participate.

We want to activists and NGO activists, bloggers and bloggers, as well as journalists and journalists worked together to understand the causes of discrimination and mobilize their communities to oppose it. Therefore, we invite all interested persons to a meeting as part of an educational project "Together we have the power: STOP DISCRIMINATION!" More about the project ...

Each person participating in the training will receive a package of materials related to anti-discrimination and actions in the local environment on human rights.

Each person participating in the seminar will receive from Amnesty International certificate of participation in the seminar.

Amnesty International acknowledges every year in Poland journalism prize "Feather of Hope" for the best text on human rights. Each participant / participant of the seminar - will be invited / and to participate in this competition.

Peter Skrzypczak

Political scientist, specialist in the field of human rights and anti-discrimination. Co-author of textbooks and publications in this field. He participated in many educational projects, including co-worker Amnesty International and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights. University lecturer. Lectures on the subject of human rights, anti-discrimination. He works in Homo Faber Association where he is responsible for Anti-discrimination program.

Joanna Klimowicz

she graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Bialystok (1994-1999), also graduated from Postgraduate Studies in Journalism and Communication at the University of Białystok (specialty advertising and public relations). Her professional career began in 2000 in "Gazeta Wyborcza" in Bialystok, then worked as a journalist in Podlasie local newspapers: "Kurier Poranny" and "Gazeta Współczesna" and in a national newspaper "New Day". Since 2008, she employed as a journalist and editor in "Gazeta Wyborcza" in Bialystok.

The seminar program includes the following topics:

  • introduction to human rights, which is discrimination?
  • how to identify discriminatory behavior and problems
  • the media as a tool for change - solving problems linked to discrimination in the local environment
  • discrimination and language
  • how to write about discrimination, how to work with people experiencing her
