Kaddish for Dąbrowa is a series of works telling the story of the Jewish community of the city, and a nostalgic and sentimental journey to the world that no longer exists. The works are inspired by the history of Mark Podwal’s family. The ancestors of the artist come from Dąbrowa Białostocka, where, before the World War II, his mother, Dorota Epelbaum, lived in.
Mark Podwal
World-famous painter and graphic designer, he worked, among others, for "The New York Times". He received a number of significant awards in the field of posters, graphics, and drawing. His works are exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Fogg Museum, the Jewish Museum in Prague, and at the Library of Congress.
