Marek Turkot comes from the small, picturesque village of Ołdaki Polonia. Since 2001, he has been attending the Environmental House of Self-Help in Łomża, where he first encountered the linocut technique, which, as he describes himself, is his true passion.

He was inspired to learn the linocut technique from a visual artist from the Łomża center. Turkot describes the beginning of the passion as follows: “When I drew a bouquet of wildflowers gathered in the fields around my house, she suggested that I draw them on a linoleum tile instead of a piece of paper. I obeyed. Then there was an attempt to etch the matrix. Another and another. And so my wonderful adventure with art began. After two years, I was ready to show my works to the public”.
