Prologue
The exhibition presents the artwork of Paweł Naumowicz that come from the period of the last few years. Part of the work refers to the journey undertaken by the Artist in Europe and the United States. Linocuts illustrate the author's thoughts on the assimilation of man and the space in which it is located. Naumowicz uses slices of urban-specific sites for the creation of a new reality, which takes on the properties of magic, almost unreal. This type of bonding is constantly renewed here by the Artist topic, even in a series of works Fri. BEAT AROUND ME.
The exhibition will also see the work of an existential, including INSOMNIA work cycle, which is the author's dialogue with itself, which is trying to realize the thoughts and feelings about the alienation of the individual, determine the existence, as the basic cells devoid of reality, and remains in the realm of the psyche. Untold image gives the viewer a space for interpretation.
All cohesive element is the technique of the work, or linocut. "Chisels and linoleum give me a sense of unity with the material - says Naumowicz - allow that the borders between the tool and the creator had lost. Every rite in the material reveals a part of me and allows you to shape each time anew."
Paweł Naumowicz
born 1980 in Bialystok. Graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Bachelor defended in the laboratory of Prof. illustration design. Zygmunt Januszewski, and an MFA in printmaking studio prof. Raphael Strent. It deals with graphics, painting, drawing and graphic design. Among numerous art collection, the largest part of which linocuts. Although the subject matter and form of the work is varied, many of them refers to the existential problems - loneliness, alienation, the struggle of man with himself, suspended somewhere in time and space unreal. The author since 2007, collaborates with Art. Gallery Kafe, in Wood Dale, USA. Winner of the Marshal of the Mazovia in the January edition of Graphics Warsaw, 2008.
